Kouzo led me back to the bedroom, and I walked over to the bed to sit. He walked over to the window, pressed his palms against the windowsill and looked out into the deep valley. I watched him search for words out there, as if the swaying grass was quickly speaking to him.
His eyes would flicker from the sky, to the ground, and at times he would look from the corner of his eye, probably taking a look at me. But I pretended to be paying no attention. I would swiftly avert my gaze, or look as if I was looking past him out into the valley.
Where do I start? he asked me, continuing to stare out the window.

I went over to the windowsill and sat there for hours, watching the grass sway back and forth until I couldnt stand being in that one place any longer. I was tired, annoyed, and confused, and I wanted answers, or at least company.

He continued to stare at me, as if what he said didnt hurt me in any way. As he held my eyes, mine began to tear. My mind was swarming with guilt, pain, sadness, and anger. I wanted to get up and leave the room, go back to my kingdom and search for Alicia, but he beat me to it.
The man turned swiftly and seemed to glide out of the door. Just as he turned, I saw a look in his eyes that confused me. He almost looked sad, or jealous.
